Funeral and Memorial Photography
by Dave Marriott.
A funeral is not traditionally a place you expect to see a professional photographer.
However, the funeral service is often a celebration of life, as well as an opportunity to pay your last respects, and say goodbye to your loved one.
How many times have you come home from a funeral and said, “It was lovely to catch up with so-and-so again, and to share their memories: I wish I had seen more of them”?
Photographs can give you further memories… memories of family and friends, which can last forever.
I can provide photographs of either just the service or the service and wake – where people have the opportunity to share their own memories of the past.
If needed, I can also process and restore photos for use in the Order of Service.
I set up my freelance career in 1990, after working as a newspaper photographer for several years.
My career has been (and is) varied, enjoyable and multi-faceted. It would almost be easier to list the people, places, events, and objects that I have NOT photographed than to tell you about those I have been lucky enough to include in those thirty years!
The memories I have of those people and places will stay with me forever. Many are truly happy memories – though some are tinged with sadness.
Captured moments at the funeral of your loved one can give you memories to treasure forever.
How I Work
My aim is to capture the people, the moments, and interactions of the family and friends who are attending the funeral.
I have a reputation for being discreet, compassionate, and inconspicuous – while achieving the pictures you would like to have as memories of the day of the funeral.
I can supply your photographs in a variety of formats: in colour, in black and white, as digital files, as photos for your album, or as canvas prints.
